Position Title: Music Director Reports To: ALM Co-Pastor/Supervision
Position Purpose: A strong leader possessing a passion for traditional and contemporary worship, a vision for musical excellence. Through our worship, God will be praised and glorified, people will be connected and the unchurched and non-believers will feel the love of God through the music. While hearing the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ.
Staff / Volunteer Supervision: Stipend Position
● Develop and coordinate music for the worship services with
Co-Pastor/Supervision
● Lead and train Praise Team and Adult Choir
● Mentor up-and-coming musicians, helping them to grow in their gift
● Minstrel planning of events and activities
● Maintenance and data management of instruments
● Direct congregational singing
● Organist/Keyboard
● Pianist
● Vocal/Instrumental Soloists or Ensembles
● Read and Play Music
● This position provides $150-200 weekly based on experience.
● Yearly evaluation with the potential of increase.
● Two weeks paid vacation
● No medical or life insurance is offered.
● Must have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ and striving to grow in that relationship.
● A heart for personal and corporate worship of God.
● A passion to involve and equip people for ministry
● A willingness to work with a team concept
● A yearning to reach the lost
● An understanding of the theology of worship ( how God moves through worship experience )
● Meet regularly with the Co-Pastor/Supervisor: Planning, brainstorming, reporting, and evaluation
● Meet weekly with additional staff via in-person or virtual
● Meet monthly with the other ministry leaders and monthly with leaders in the Music Ministry
● Vacation days will be coordinated with the Co-Pastor/ Supervisor
● Schedule guest musicians to cover absences
● Business casual dress code
● Arrive at services at least 30 minutes early
● 30 minutes late will result in a 30% payment reduction (emergencies will be discussed with the supervisor)
● No call, No show will void the contract and result in immediate termination
● In case of an emergency and your running late or can't make it, call two hours before serving
● Travel with the Pastors for service ( $50-100 will be the compensation) ● Extra service outside of Sunday's and final Friday's ( $50-100 will be the compensation )
● Inappropriate relationships and spotty behavior that will bring reproach to our church could result in termination.
● This position is at-will and requires a 1099 tax form.
● Agape Love Ministries adheres to all tax laws and will pay employees by check.
● Music Directors who can skillfully play more than one primary instrument or have exceptional knowledge in music software may negotiate stipend rates.
